Legal notice and rental terms
RailsAway is an educational demonstration project, built while learning Ruby on Rails. Payments are made in test mode: nothing is charged and no film is actually streamed.
Site publisher
RailsAway is published personally by Shin Aki. The site is not run by a company.
For any request, use the contact form of the site.
Rental terms
A rental covers one film of the catalogue and lasts as long as the plan you chose (48 hours, 7 days or 30 days). It starts when the payment is confirmed and ends by itself at the deadline.
Prices are shown in euros, taxes included. The price applied is the one of the plan at the time of payment.
As long as payment has not been made, a rental can be canceled from “My rentals”. Once paid, it can be neither canceled nor refunded from the site.
Payment
Payment is processed by Stripe, on its secure page. RailsAway neither receives nor stores any bank card number.
While the site is a demonstration, Stripe runs in test mode: use the card 4242 4242 4242 4242, a future date and any code. No real money is charged.
Personal data
We keep your email address, your display name, your password (encrypted), your rental history, your favourites and your loyalty points. This data is only used to make your account work.
Messages sent through the contact form reach us by email and are not stored in the site's database.
You can correct your information or delete your account at any time from “My profile”: your rental history is then erased from the site. Payment records kept by Stripe are Stripe's responsibility.
Cookies
RailsAway only uses technical cookies required for the site to work: sign-in, cart and chosen language. No advertising or analytics cookie is set.
Third-party services
Film information and posters come from TMDB. This site uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Fonts (Google Fonts) and some images are loaded from third-party servers, which therefore receive the visitor's IP address.
